Eco friendly - reduce/reuse/recycle - Making ripples

Our blog has been a bit quiet recently. Mainly due to Pandemic shut down, We really didn't have a lot to say as nothing much was happening. Sales were through the roof (great) due to everyone shopping online. But it was quiet....Oh so quiet. The roads were quiet, no chaotic visits from family or Grandchildren. Too quiet.

We did get out for walks when we could and it was remarkable to notice the air smelt cleaner, no car fumes, very little waste as we decided to reduce/reuse/recycle more and NO toilet roll (we found an eco friendly answer to this too).

It was with this in mind and due to increasing concern over the plastic problem in the world that we started looking at a more sustainable way of living. We've always been conscious of global warming and trying to be ecofriendly, always used soy wax and recycled packaging but we wanted to go further.

After lots of research, testing out different products, toilet papers and plastic free swaps we are delighted to offer, alongside our candles, eco friendly products for the whole family.

We don't need a few people to be eco living perfectly, we need a lot of people doing their best and swapping where and when they can.

One of my favourite plastic free eco swaps is for soap nuts to wash my clothes.

I was very dubious at first but they are amazing and no need for conditioner as they change the ph of the water to make clothes soft and fresh. They are unscented and zero waste, I obviously like a little bit of scent, after all, I do make candles to fragrance the home. Therefore I do add a few drops of essential oils to fragrance my clothes but that is totally optional. For very heavy soiled, or smelly (I have dogs) items, I sometimes add a spoonful of soda crystals or use our stain removal stick.

There are many changes I've made now and most actually are better and save money.

We are adding to our range all the time. You can find some of the products in our catalogue on here or view the whole range at planetcare.wikaniko.com

I hope you can join us in protecting and trying to heal our planet, our children need it.

You can follow our eco journey on instagram at planetcare_ecoproducts

We'd love to hear about the swaps you manage to make.
